madison grabbed her old, worn pair of white breeches and a black hollister graphic tee. she threw them on over a sports bra. madison slipped on her favorite tye-dye zocks then pulled on her tall boots. she braided her hair back loosely, in a rush. she threw her new bright cyan saddle pad, matching polo wraps, treats, a bag of carrots, an apple and charles owen helmet into her duffel bag. she threw it over her shoulder, slipping in her iphone and key.
madison ran down to the barn, and put down her duffel bag in the tack room. she rummaged in the bag until she had a few treats, and a carrot. jogging down to moon's pasture, she slipped under the white fence as moon trotted over to her. "hey boy." she murmured, scratched his forehead. he leaned into the touch, almost shoving maddie over. she chuckled, regaining her balance as she stumbled backwards. she held out her hand, a small treat laying on her palm. moon snatched it within seconds. chuckling at moon's silly actions, she grabbed his halter and led him back to the barn. moon's hooves clopped against the ground noisily. madison led him to a pair of crossties and tied him up. she curried all the mud off, rubbing in circles. soon enough, the grey's coat was gleaming. deciding to ride bareback, madison took her clip-on reins and head out to the jumping arena with moon.
madison mounted the gelding, clipping on the reins. she walked around the arena, a bit bored. no one else was there. she seriously wanted some company.

it was during second period that callie decided she would go see cooper today. instead of waiting for the bell, like almost every student did, callie simply packed her stuff on top of her desk, grabbed it and walked out of the room. no questions asked, simple as that. she made her way around the science wing to the girls' dorms where she changed into jeans, a t-shirt, half chaps, and paddock boots. no way was she wearing breeches, those things were the most uncomfortable pants she'd ever worn. even wearing them in shows made her cringe.
once she was in the barn she opened coop's stall door, patted him on the nose and exited to grab her grooming bucket. the pony stood patiently, despite the stall door being carelessly left open. callie groomed for about ten minutes, or until she was bored, and threw some tack on the pony before snapping her helmet under her chin and leading him out.
once outside, callie scrambled up into the saddle and rode her way toward the jumper arena. she opened the gate with a little bit of trouble, and was eventually all the way inside. there was another girl in here. callie didn't recognize her. she'd only been here for two days, the only people she recognized were her siblings. anyway, callie turned cooper toward the rail and started walking him around. | [/style] |

Kellin slowly walked into the barn. Nobody was in there. Good. He went up to the first stall which held his horse, Trent. Trent was too busy eating his hay to notice Kellin, though. Kellin bent down to grab his grooming kit. It held everything in there. Hard brushes, soft brushes, curry combs, hoove picks, scissors, ect. His mom always made sure he had the best stuff. Once Kellin was finished grooming Trent, he began to get the saddle on him.
They walked outside together. With his right hand he held Trent's reigns. In his left he held his helmet. Safety first, right? They made their way to the jumping arena. Two girls were already in there. Great. Kellin contemplated just leaving and going on a trail ride. "What do you think, boy?" Kellin asked Trent. Trent shook his head, as if he actually was responding. "Yeah, you're right. Let's just deal with it. You know, you give some good advice."
Kellin led Trent into the arena. He put his helmet on and climbed onto the dutch warmblood. He gathered his reigns, and walked him around to warm his legs up. Kellin hoped that nobody would want to talk to him. Everybody knew that he was the son of the owner. So then most people would pretend to be his friend so they could kiss up to his mom for free private lessons and better feed, ect. And Kellin always fell for it.

squeezing gently on moon's sides as she sunk her heels down and her toes up, he moving into a flowy trot. madison posted along with the warmblood with ease. soon enough, they had lapped a few times. as they neared the far corner from the barn, she asked for a canter.
moon moved into the canter with a smooth transition. a few laps around the ring was a warm-up before they went to jump. madison popped over a small crossrail, turning to a vertical. moon took a long spot, throwing maddie off balance.
she quickly straightened herself up just in the nick of time for the next jump. moon went over it with ease, and the next jump in the line. the last jump was the biggest of them all- an oxer. the warmblood picked up a bit of speed as madison gave him a little rein. he soared over the green jump, snapping up his front legs.
as they landed, madison could hear the pole shake. as she circled around, she sighed with relief. it didn't fall. thank god. she thought as she patted moon's neck while they were trotting.

of course she noticed the other two people in there, but that didn't change her god-awful eq. she didn't have any intention of 'impressing' anyone. it just wasn't her way of doing things.
callie kicked the lazy school pony toward the outside rail and picked up a working trot. cooper lazily plodded along. being out of work for two days, and then being cooped up in a trailer for a while didn't make him more energetic like most others, it really just about killed him with laziness.
she posted solidly, making sure to check her diagonal and all that easy crap that almost came natural to her now. after a few boring laps around she nudged the bay with her heels, cuing cooper into a canter. it was really just a kick and run, but it worked, so whatever.
callie hated flatwork. it was awfully boring, and the only part about the riding program at sunset avenue that she was excited for was the 'riding on your own' part. that meant she could do whatever without being restricted by a trainer. awesome.
the girl cantered over a teensy x in the corner before pulling to a walk. | [/style] |

Kellin kept his head down as he rode. It was awkward with no one talking. Though, he most definitely wasn't going to start a conversation. That really just wasn't him. Kellin made his way towards the middle and stopped Trent. In Kellin's pocket was his iPod, full of some new music. He took it out and stuck the headphones in his ears. He turned his music on full volume, and began to ride again. Maybe this would give a sign that he really didn't want to talk to anyone. He hated it when he was listening to music and someone just had to come up and start a conversation with him. It annoyed the crap out of him.
Kellin kicked Trent into a canter and they went around the arena once. He knew he was probably the best in the arena, but he wasn't going to be cocky. Well, he wasn't going to be until he got to known them more. Kellin steered Trent towards the green jump that some girl had almost knocked over. He would go over this one with no problem. He counted the strides, then dug his heels into Trent's sides. Trent quickly snapped his front legs up and flew over the jump. They landed perfectly. A smile creeped up onto his face. He couldn't help it. Kellin and Trent were the best. He scoffed a bit, then trotted towards the rail. He hoped everyone saw the perfect jump.

the brunette walked over to the hunter green jump and put it up a few holes. she adjusted the other side so the pole was even and trotted around a bit. she made a swift transition into a canter as she moved to the rail, and towards the jump. her mind was on the jump, and the jump only. the exact same thing for moon.
the two were like one being. madison stayed in the saddle, moving along with the gelding. as soon as his legs snapped up in perfect position, she slid up into her two-point. they landed, and the jump had been as perfect as was even possible. she smirked, sneaking a glance at the boy. she couldn't wait to see his reaction. she did so much better.
"who's the better one now?" madison shouted, rubbing it in his face. she wasn't normally like that, but that kid was seriously ticking her off.
