She had her camera around her neck so she could take pictures of the people walking around. She was all by herself, and she really didn't like that. Artemis always came up with worse case scenarios. Right now, she was thinking about getting mugged or something. Everyone around her gave her a look as she passed them. Artemis tried to keep her cool. Her blond hair was back in a french braid and her bangs hung in her light blue eyes. She wore a white dress with grey Toms. This had to be her favorite outfit. And she hoped that everybody else loved it too. She was all about fashion. Across the busy street was a park. Artemis looked down at her feet. They were sore, she could use a good rest. Before crossing the street, she quickly looked both ways. When there was a big enough gap between cars, Artemis took off. Once she was at the park, she looked around for a bench. She found one next to a tree that sheilded her from the bright, hot sun. She took out her small photo album and began to look through it. The first picture was one of her and her mother. It was the day Artemis was born. Next were pictures of her older brother holding her, and then her and her father. Next were pictures of her younger brother, Eli, when he was born. There were pictures of her holding him with a big smile on her face. Other pictures were her at science fairs, horse shows, and all that good stuff. Artemis giggled when she saw the picture of Anissa, her 5 year old sister. She obviously was an accident. Her dad liked to call her 'whoops!'." Artemis took a picture out of the album. It was a whole family photo, including her horse. She smiled as she looked at it. Her whole family was not paying attention at all. Her mom was trying to calm down Anissa as she screamed, Eli was attempting to push Greyson, and her father was looking at a text message. As for Artemis, she was looking at her new camera. Even though the picture was totally embarrassing, it was her favorite. Artemis looked up at the sky. The wind was beginning to pick up now. Just as Artemis loosened her grip on the picture, the wind took off with it. "Oh no you don't!" |
