I hope it's ok for me to post an introduction here. I kinda wanted to introduce myself and tell yall a little bit about who I am! My name is Brittany (I generally go by Britta or Britt) and I'm a country girl from the wonderful state of Alabama. I live on a fifty-acre farm and we raise cattle, chickens, and guinea-fowl. I own three beautiful horses (a TWH mare, a TWH gelding... who is my mare's son, and a QH stallion... who is gonna become a gelding soon), two dogs (a Chihuahua/x/Schnauzer cross and a Boston Terrier), and a cat (a mixed breed that looks just like a Maine Coon Cat). Well, if you wanna know anything else, just ask. Lol. I can't wait to roleplay with you guys!

Hi! My name's Brittanie as well, different spelling however. I'm a country gal as well, however we no longer have any poultry or cattle and solely work with horses now. I do, however, head out to my friend John's to rope and ride some bulls whenever I get the opportunity! ;D
I've been riding since before I could walk or talk and currently own four horses of my own, three paints and one rocky mountain saddle horse who's triple registered... Oh! I also work at a dressage barn and take lessons for just about every discipline when I can and train horses myself and also give lessons!
Heh, I also tend to talk alot... Far cry from my current character Josephine.
What discipline(s) do you ride?

Wow. That's neat. I've never taken lessons. I'm basically a 'self taught' rider. In addition to my three horses, we also keep my uncle's mares and my cousin' mare on our land. My uncle's mare's are a Racking Horse and a Racking Horse/Quarterhorse cross. My cousin's mare is a Racking Horse and may be preggers. Were not really sure...
I have taught severa people to ride, though, and I've trained all three of my horses, retrained two others, trained another cousin's mare, and have broken some bad habits from some of my other family's horses... out here, I'm the 'horse person'... If anyone has a problem with their horses, they come to me... Lol.
As for what I do... I don't show or anything... I'm a trail-rider... thouh one day I'd like to learn Dressage, Showjumping, and Western Pleasure and I'd love to do the competitive trail courses...

Nice. My Molly mare, the RMSH, is the sweetest dang mare in the world so I'm slightly partial to the gaited breeds. I'm very thankful that I've taken lessons because they've allowed for me to rise up in the levels of competition. That's one of those things that I absolutely adore to no end. School's always been tough since there aren't many horsey people my age around here and I'm so dedicated, and I love showing because it brings me to people that I'd never even know.
I get all of the problem horses out at work and also get to start all of the two/three/if I'm really lucky and get an andalusian four year olds. I'm actually certified to do chiropractic work on horses, although I'm not allowed to claim that I'm a chiropractor until our vet sponsors me, which he hasn't yet because he's waiting until I'm out of college and can do it more than just on the weekends.
There's nothing wrong with trail riding, it's how I started out. Western pleasure isn't all that it's made out to be. I've seen good horses ruined by bad trainers. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against it, I've just had some bad experiences with it. Heck, I even show it. In western pleasure, if you get the wrong trainer so many things can go wrong. My last project horse, a 7 year old appy gelding, was trained in western pleasure. He wasn't built to be a pleasure horse at all and when he couldn't do the artificial lope they did this training method where they ran strings from the bit to his hocks. He was terrified of too much pressure in his mouth and I had the worst time getting him to track correctly in his hind end. They completely screwed the poor guy up. He would track short on the inside leg no matter the direction and never fully get up under himself. I had him only for about four months before I sold him and I had gotten him back to being a sane, healthy horse and found out that he was a natural jumper and loved the taller fences. I think his highest within my hands was about 4'6" because I didn't want to push him, and even then I feel like that was too much too fast, even if he did want to do more. Sorry.... Like I said, I talk alot...

Cool.
I've heard horror stories about some western pleasure trainers... but it still seems like it would be interesting if you could find a good trainer. If I ever compete, I wouldn't try to win, I'd just do it for the fun of it.
My QH, I think, would make a great WP horse. His headset is naturally 'long and low' and his gaits are nice and slow and really good, considering he's not trained that well (he's trained, but he's green and isn't worked consistently).
I'd like to get my Walker gelding trained in Dressage. My Walkers don't gait at all, and are basically like smooth QH's... Lol... I think my gelding would make an excellent dressage prospect, he has the movement...
And my mare, if she wasn't an older mare, I'dlike to hve gotten her into jumping. She loves to jump... Lol...
