Mercedes wasn't a girl who worried unnecessarily, but even she would admit at this moment in time… she was worried. Even the taxi-ride from the airport through town hadn't taken her mind off things, and normally she'd have stopped to visit every store… but not today. Not when she had other things on her mind. If it wouldn't have damaged her nails, she would have bitten them off ages ago, on the plane ride.
Why was she worried, you ask? It's simple, really… She was concerned over how her beloved Hanoverian gelding was settling into his new home. She knew from the reports that he'd apparently shipped over just fine, and she knew from the reports that he'd been quarantined for the proper amount of time and never gave any fuss, but she still worried over him. Sadie wouldn't relax completely until she saw her beloved gelding. He was supposed to be at the school she was going to attend by now, in the boarding barn… but she wanted to see for herself if it was adequate and lived up to the standards the gelding was used to. And she wanted to make sure Chang was settling in alright. Her other gelding, Castle, was with a trainer completely on the other side of America who specialized in 'problem horses'. He would rejoin Sadie when his issues were straightened out…
When the taxi pulled up outside the school, Sadie didn't even take the time to look around. She merely flung a couple of bills at the driver and bolted from the car, yelling over her shoulder to "Keep the change!". Sadie had already memorized her dorm number, and flung the door open, throwing her duffel bag on the floor. She'd only packed a little bit, as she was planning on doing a major shopping trip later and buying some 'American' clothes… as it was, she currently wore a tight purple t-shirt under a black 'penguin' vest that was buttoned and had a large smiley face pin pinned on the shoulder… Purple Capri pants adorned her legs and on her feet were a pair of black converse. A large purple and black bow was in her hair and her hair itself was braided on one side and left down and wavy on the other. On her right hand was a fingerless, purple fishnet glove that went up to her elbow.
Without even pausing to look around the dorm, Sadie bolted back outside and towards the boarders barn. "Chang!" She called, slowing to a fast paced walk as she entered, checking every stall for her big, black Hano. She walked the entire barn twice and even looked out into the pastures before realizing that her gelding wasn't there yet. Worry tugged at her as she began envisioning the worst… a wreck, or maybe he'd caught some sort of disease here and had to be put down… or maybe the man who was supposed to transport Chang had decided to steal him…
Purposely ignoring those thoughts, or trying to, Sadie walked to the front of the barn and brought a hand up to her eyes, shielding them from the sun as she stared down the road. She knew that those thoughts weren't true, and that there had probably been some sort of delay with the transport… Her gelding would be there, safe and sound with her, soon… she hoped… It didn't stop her from worrying, though…
